Why is bremco giving mine and your money away?

In this weeks edition of the Alleghany news there is a letter to the editor signed by Ruth Farrington blasting bremco's board for the salary of douggie. She is upset that there is no one listening to the members and there seems to be no way to address them. They can be removed as board members but it takes a petition at voting time to do so. Ruth doesn't know about the asu suite, hockey tickets, or the state basketball tickets.

It is common practice for a utility to charge a deposit. What planet have you live on?

Kay Sexton is the Ashe District manager for BREMCO. Have your dad giver her a call and ask that the deposit be waived. I've had deposits waived for one of several reasons, 1. existing customer in excellent standing (ie: no late payments) 2. I asked that it be waived based upon my credit score and payment history with other similar companies (phone company etc.)

Seeing how bremco doesn't have the deposit information in plain sight on their web site they are taking advantage of members and doing what ever they please. Joe I would call over there and have them to provide in writing why they charged this deposit.

So then, why would an existing member have to pay a deposit on another service? He should have told them he would cosign for himself.

They still have this option.

No fins you are remembering correctly.

You know, I was thinking back, and I swear that I remember when I first signed up as a BREMCO member, they would wave the deposit if another member in good standing consigned for you. So if I remember correctly, my mother did, and I avoided the deposit.

Or am I thinking of that other bunch of thieves at skyline?

The more information that comes out on BREMCO, the more things smell.

No he didn't fins he still has both the new service and the old for the next month at which point he will drop the old service.

Joe, did your dad cut off his previous service before turning on the new service? If I remember correctly, existing members don't have to pay a deposit on extra services. But if you disconnect all of your services, then turn on a new service, it doesn't matter if it's the next day or ten years later. They do this screwed up thing of treating you like a new member

I have more than one account and I have never had to pay an additional deposit. Now thats not to say something has not changed in the last few months.

I am with pm, why does the only source of power this side of the gully need to advertise. They are the only show on the mountain. Same with the propane. Its a waste of my money that should be used to lower our rates as it is intended.

I heard another radio spot this morning on the radio. Why in thunder does bremco advertise? It ain't like I'm gonna take my business elsewhere.

That is OUR money they are wasting.

No dog he is in good standing with Blue ridge and has never been late and the deposit is not across the board since the deposit on the place he is moving out of was only 250. They are not basing the deposit on his account they are using the light bill from the previous tenets.

Joe I am guessing your father has no credit with bremco. I had assumed the deposit was equal across the board. I need to look at their website.

It hit me one day this week that bremco bought its only competition in Independence oil and gas. I know there are other companies however their gas prices have never compared with bremco and Independence.

More nonsense from Blue ridge. Today my dad started moving into his new place and had the power put in his name. Blue ridge charged him a 500 dollar deposit base not on his previous bills but on the power bill of the people who used to live where his is moving to. How do they figure that a single person is going to use the same amount of power as a family of 5.

I have gotten a spread sheet with all the co op's in NC. Its a pure slap in all of our faces how those directors have let our company get so out of hand. I would almost guarantee the money for the football suite and the NC state tickets and the Hockey tickets is coming out of the gas business.
