Notice the lightfoot wasn't told that the directors on top of that 25+ grand salary for life they also have health insurance at our expense all for 5 hours work a week, if that.

My guess this is just the tip of the iceberg. What I wouldn't give to be able to look at those books...

There's nothing illegal about a nonprofit having perks like a suite. Well, maybe that should say most of the time it's not illegal. But most of the time I can chose if I want to patronize a nonprofit or charitable organization. I can look at their reports and say no, they waste too much on "administrative costs". But in the case of Bremco we don't have that choice. And Bremco isn't a regular nonprofit company. It's our company. We the members own Bremco. So any waste they have is money out of our pockets. That suite is food out of your kids' mouths. It's god ****ed Animal Farm incarnate.

Good luck getting Poe or bremco to give a straight answer about anything.

I heard about this ASU Bremco suite in the thread on the ambulance contract and now want to learn more.
Is it a common practice for other non profit type businesses to have this type of set up? Do they need it to do their business and lobbying? Sometimes what seems excessive is just standard. I want to be fair In my judgement here and I just don't know enough about our state electric coops to know if this is necessary.
What kind of catering are we talking about? Is it cold cuts or caviar?

Who directs the spending? Who is accountable? How do "members" get acccountability? How can one get a copy of the detailed budget? There is no link on the web site to access such information......but jolly well should be.

I have several accounts and turn on and off several properties. I had not been asked to participate in the round up and they just took it upon themselves to sign me up. That lasted until I would get the bills and see it and I would dial them up and get my money back. I have no idea where they send that money when a gang of directors have a suite at ASU and those front row hockey tickets in Raleigh.

I'm reading the community give aways that bremco advertises they do. By their own numbers, 25,000 people participate in operation round up each month. If that nets an average of $0.5 per person, then that's 12.5**** each month they give away. That seems okay....because it is an option of each member to participate. But I want to know more......much more.

Can we remove all of the directors by petitions for each seat?

And it's jolly well time those directors had the cards laid out on the table. Who could we nominate and actively campaign to be a director? Anyone wanna step up to the plate?

Good job, now you have it we are over paying the crook by double. I know that energy united it much larger than bremco and they pay their ceo half as much. I also read that the largest co-op in the US pays thier ceo 277K.
The entire board of directors need to resign and an sbi investigation should take place.

For the record. They do have a rate deduction averaging .50 a month for the average home - a total of $6.00 per year.

Also, New River Light & Power (The power company in Boone that is owned by ASU) buys their power through BREMCO, granted at a wholesale rate. But they just announced they are cutting their price to their customers, while BREMCO just applied for another rate increase. Think about that one for a while
