Just watched our finest going down the road, twice the speed limit, without using their lights or sirens - I wished someone would remind them, that they are not allowed to break the law, even if they are the law.... If they were in route to an emergency, they are required by law to use their lights and sirens, unless they are staging... but even then, they should use their lights and sirens until they get near the scene... 😜

I've been stopped before when I forgot my wallet. It was a little aggravating, but I didn't get hauled to jail. They asked a lot more questions like date of birth and SS# to verify. Now that DMV photos are on the computer system, it's not as tough. This one is lying.

I actually know several guys who carry all their registration cards and insurance info in their wallet ,but none of them have been arrested recently. Not that I know of anyway.

My next question is why would you carry your registration and insurance information in your wallet? That is something that should have a safe place in your car. Also, so they wrote the VIN of your car down and waited to run it at the jail? You were locked in a cell for hours because they forgot about you? Sounds fishy to me.

I did not steal anyone's car. The car is mine bought and paid for. I lost my wallet which held my NCDL my insurance cards all of them, my registration and social security card. They ran the vin number once I was at the jail. After shift change I was placed in a holding cell and was and I quote oh my God I forgot they told me anyone was in here. I have contacted a lawyer and suit is being filed. So believe what you wish

There is has to be more to the story. I do believe that frisking is protocol. So you are saying they didn't run the tags or vin to see if the car was stolen? What was the real reason you were held for 10 hours?

Local, how could that possibly happen when we have all these "Good Christians" serving in Ashe County law enforcement?

Let me tell you about the local law enforcement, it's a joke. Who else would detain or arrest someone for suspicion of stolen vehicle because of backing into a parking spot then have a male officer grope them on side of the road take them to the jail where the jailers sit and talk about measuring there male private parts held for 10 hours then released. That's the people that are protecting and serving the county.
