OCM and CF are right on the money again on this one. You don't know what you've got until it is gone. And when you move here from somewhere else, don't pith and moan about how it is here. If you didn't do your home work first then shame on you.

CooperFarms | Posted 8:24 am, 08/16/2014 | I've seen thousands of people that move to Ashe County and complain about it. If you are not happy here - leave.

I tell people that the same dammned road that brought their beeching ***es here can take their beecing ***es out of here.

The moral of the story is that Lowes Food made bad business decisions. Poor location, high prices and employess that just didn't care. It is not a social statement about the county.
Additionally if people will be more proactive about their health care and not run to the emergency room every time they get a booger in their nose - the hospital will be just fine.

The moral of the story is to stop for groceries when you are in Boone or Wilkes, pretty soon you will need to go there if you need a hospital emergency room too.

According to IGA's website, they are from Chicago. Not Wilkes

They've been losing business for awhile so it doesn't surprise me. Low visibility, high prices and fewer products don't make good business sense. I do hate to see it go though, the loss of more jobs is never a good thing.

He employees in the stores half the time don't even know where items are located. They sure don't know what customers want

corporate office knows everything about what you buy and how often you buy it. That's why they started using those discount cards and marking prices up if you don't have a card.

If you think the high school kids and drop outs that work in grocery stores have any clue about what the customers want, you are dumber than I previously thought. Most of them barely even know where stuff is. But the corporate office knows everything about what you buy and how often you buy it. That's why they started using those stupid discount cards and marking prices up if you don't have a card.

They started selling prepackaged meat a few years ago and it is not fit to eat. If they had low prices and good quality produce people would have shopped there. They wrote their own obituary .
