Maybe the new sheriff will start holding Sunday services at the jail for what few inmates they still house! After all the employees that have quit, the sheriff and his new captain will be the only ones left...LMAO "Absher For Sheriff 2018"..

As long as he isn't buying alcohol while in uniform, he isn't breaking any code. Plus, Hendrix is a rather large guy in stature. Which means it would probably take a lot to get him drunk. That being said I would guess that he is under the limit of intoxication when driving. I do agree with you on the whole new sheriff thing though. I think he is digging his own whole for election time.

Whether the new Sheriff has let you down personally or otherwise. He is the chosen official for the present time. So get use to it..

All of my information has been worthwhile and extremely accurate. And I do thank you for verifying that Price is gone- would really like to know why.
Sorry to jump you, bragging as you did and then your name (Mr. Meoff) kind of sent up a red flag.
My apologies.

TheBookhouseBoy, bahahahhaa obviously what i set out to do is going to be easier than i expected. Please tell me what makes me a moron or a plant? Because I know more than most? Get out of here. Better yet, enlighten us with some worthwhile information.

In other news add Price to the ex-ACSO employee roster. Another one bites the dust.

When did it become illegal to play golf?

But wait, the sheriff-select just told someone earlier this week that there weren't any road deputy slots available and that this person needed to be a "good boy" and do his stint as a jailer and then maybe something will open up.
Hmmmm, interesting...

Anyone noticed the 10 spots up on NCWorks for part time deputies, and 10 spots up for part time jailers. Guess the new Sheriff doesn't want to hire anyone full time, I'm sure he'll be requested yet another raise any time now.

Ok, well your name in your profile indicates a high level of immaturity (or stupidity) so I really don't think I would be claiming to be in the "upper echelon" of anything in the county. Maybe in your Special Education class, but not in politics.
You are either a moron or a plant or both.

Hendrix is no better. Several times I've seen him pull into the golf course, change out of uniform in the parking lot, buy beer, play a round, and leave. If he can't obey the law in the position he's in now he's unfit to be sheriff. Buckwheat will blow the next election, without a doubt.

I hope Hendrix takes this joke behind the woodshed and whips him left, right, up, and down in the primary. I know some have said Absher should switch his affiliation to win but that's not in his character to do so. From what I've heard, it's going to take a lot for Absher not to run. Whether it's Absher or Hendrix as our next sheriff, anything is better than the wannabe we have now.

Sounds about right to me. You may have missed a couple but we get the point.

It doesn't matter if you love them or hate them; the boys in blue have a job to do. Most importantly, they continue to make Ashe a safe place to live and raise a family. ACSO currently employs dozens of people which gives them the same opportunity each one of us has to make a living and enjoy the place we call home.

However, some changes have recently come about; I feel as if they could be detrimental if the current Sheriff doesn't get his head out of his rear end. I'm not wasting any more time on the county commissioners as they committed political suicide. Both of which will now understand what it's like to be irrelevant and surrounded by thousands of citizens that will never forget the ignorance displayed that evening.

For starters, this donkey had the audacity to bring some flat lander in as Chief Deputy.. This is your most important officer; this man doesn't know his way around the county much less how to relate to those he's supposed to wake up willing to give his life for.

Next, homer hires a LEO from South Carolina that hasn't worked in a jail before. Two men, brought in from nowhere, into positions they weren't qualified for. Maybe he knows something I don't. He obviously doesn't know what kind of taste that is immediately going to leave in any Ashe County natives mouth.

Most recently our fellow deputy we all know and love from the movie theatre family, a seasoned investigator, was demoted from investigator to jailor. This was all done in an effort to make room for our Chief "FLOWER"S" buddy. More backdoor politics being displayed in the public's eye as if all of us are blind. You can no longer get Popcorn at the ACSO as he resigned as well.

Two more detectives have left to go to Watauga as well. One of which shared last names with the former Sheriff; something about that last name makes for an outstanding LEO. The other gentleman isn't downChurch, yet quite the opposite.

There have been at least 5 more that have resigned. Not only is our new leader of LEO being incredibly selfish, but he's also signing his public image away to the undertaker immediately after the two commissioners done the same to themselves. When in Rome I suppose.

The current safe state former Sheriff left the county with is slowly, but surely diminishing. The general safety of us citizens has completely been put aside while homeboy "fixes" all the problems he was left with. What a joke. Absolutely pitiful. Not only are we suffering, but so are the people resigning and quitting. They deserve a chance to go to work everyday just like everyone else. One man comes in and immediately starts making changes that not only affects these people's career but their families too. Some may have to pack and move to find a job comparable to the one they just left. Some may never have another job that gives them benefits, retirement, or above minimum wage and hour. Apparently the new Sheriff just doesn't care, he's reaping the benefits, hiring friends, and enjoying a new office chair. A chair he probably wouldn't have if he hadn't spared when he last worked at ACSO. From what I gather he was fortunate enough to have a boss with enough heart to let him resign instead of being fired.

Where are the newspapers? Some big names have left our department since Buckwheat, yet they haven't reported on none. Nor have they given any insight on the new employees coming in.

All information is a matter of opinion, none of which is factual. However I'm what you would consider UPPER ECHELON in Ashe County politics.
