Dude, it's 2016. Only morons like Timmy still use checks. Get a debit card.

There are no other lanes open when I get off work so there is no option. If you are paying with check you then have to get one of them to come over and transfer it to their register, so why did I need to bag it up if only they can run the transaction?
Another fun tip is that if you are bagging and as you put items into the bag andit falls off the little thing it gets a double bagged error and you have to have them come over for that too.
Just way to much hassle.
I'm with Clophopper, we are buying their products they can have someone check it and then bag it. You can't tell me they aren't making enough to pay folks to do that.

Yeah, the Food Lion is always a super fast check out with the one or two lanes open, long lines, carts filled to the brim and blue hairs paying w/ checks.

The lists for produce at Ingles is taped to either the drink coolers or stands near the self checks at Ingles. You don't have to have the cashier do it for you.

I love self checkout. Anything that reduces the amount of interaction I have to have with minimum wage morons is a plus. I do hate how ingles doesn't have a way to enter produce. When in Boone, a lot of times I hit Harris teeter because of their meat and seafood and their self checkouts let you search produce with a directory.

I use the self checkouts. My free time that I'd have to give up to stand in a regular line is worth more than the time it takes me to navigate the user screens on the self checkouts.

I use them at both. I don't buy produce at Walmart, but do at Ingles. They have the produce numbers beside the registers.

The self check out at ingles is second rate to Walmarts. You have to have the cashier do corn, potatoes, anything that does not have a code. Walmarts has the ability to let you pick the vegetable or fruit from a list.

You can still go to the people checkouts in Walmart if you like, but who in the world would want to do that if there was an alternative. The self checkout lines are outstanding! I don't have to deal with a low-performing/low-motivation level Ashe County worker and it's quick.

I agree. I can get in and out so much faster. Its really amazing that we still have cashiers with the technology today.

Its for sure you. I can get out of there three times faster with the self checkout. It took them long enough to install it.

I just wanted to see if anyone else hated the new self check out lines at Wal-Mart. I can't stand them and I'd prefer a human cashier to check out my stuff. It's been convenient to stop there on the home for work but it takes twice as long self checking myself out it seems, so I'm thinking of just making another trip out in the future and going to Food Lion instead.
