The Salvation Army in West Jefferson is a wonderful help to this community. If someone is in need of furniture in a crisis or change of life situation they give them what they need. A coat is a coat. Be thankful that someone was using something that you were not.

Salvation Army sells the donated clothes in their store to make money. They don't give them to people that need coats. She probably bought it for $5

Maybe just maybe she needed a coat? Once you donate you don't own rights to it. They are going to sell it anyway. So maybe just maybe she paid for it. I can't imagine someone working there making more then minimum wage. So that being said next time donate to one of the organizations in the county that doesn't charge anyone for an item. Call the phone company and see if they can help find the phone. I'm pretty sure posting on this forum isn't going to help you get what you want.

You should have involved the barneys. If the coat was that good you should have worn it out.

I donated a very nice winter coat yesterday. My sister informed me that she had borrowed the coat earlier that day and had left her cell in the pocket. We rushed back hoping to get there before they closed. Just as we pulled in I see the girl Ashley that had taken my coat and given me a receipt wearing it,getting in her car and leaving. Is this what the staff does? Pick through donations for themselves? My husband is threatening legal action but all I want is my sisters phone back. Every time I call I am put on hold and no one ever responds. When I go to confront that girl she magically disappears and the rude manager claims no knowledge. I have heard in the past staff gets first pick but I didn't really believe it until now.
